After retiring, my wife Marie and I are enjoying the country life in rural North Carolina near Lincolnton, which is NW of Charolette. Living on a wooded lot near the family 100 acre homestead, built in the 1880s, offers a lot of opportunities for painting sunrises, sunsets, cattle and old buildings. Raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia gave me a love of the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains and offers the settings for many of my paintings.
